A trailer for Me & Roboco was released, revealing the main cast and theme song details.

The Boku to Roboko anime release date is December 4, 2022, in the Fall 2022 anime season. The anime will air on TV Tokyo and its affiliate channels, and the length of each episode will be 5 minutes.

The anime adaptation was first announced back in May 2022, in this year’s 26th issue of the Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. In September 2022, its main staff members were announced, along with the December 4, 2022 premiere date.

The trailer PV introduces the main cast of characters and gives a glimpse into the premise of the show. It also reveals and previews the theme song of Me & Roboco — “lol” by the 13-member Japanese idol group GANG PARADE.

Cast and staff

The main cast of Boku to Roboko includes:

  • Comedian Shun Matsuo as Roboco
  • Minami Tsuda (Shuu Ouma in Guilty Crown) as Bondo Taira
  • Ryotaro Okiayu (Byakuya Kuchiki in Bleach) as Gachi Gorilla
  • Shunsuke Takeuchi (Harumi Takeda in My Senpai is Annoying) as Motsuo Kaneo
  • M.A.O (Shion in That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime) as Madoka
  • Sae Hiratsuka as Meiko
  • Kotono Mitsuishi (Misato Katsuragi in Neon Genesis Evangelion) as Bondo’s mother

Akitaro Daichi (best known for directing Kamisama Kiss) is directing Boku to Roboko anime at Studio Gallop with Michihiro Sato as the assistant director. Sayuri Ooba (Romantic Killer) is in charge of the series scripts. Yuko Ebara is designing the characters.

More about Me & Roboco

Me & Roboco, known in Japan as Boku to Roboko, is an upcoming TV anime based on the manga series of the same name written and illustrated by Shuhei Miyazaki.

The manga has been serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine since July 2020. Shueisha has compiled its individual chapters into ten tankobon volumes to date. Volume 11 of the Boku to Roboko manga is set to release on December 2, 2022.

Viz publishes the manga series digitally in English. Five English volumes have been released to date.

The story of Me & Roboco takes place in a world where maid robots known as Overmaids are commonplace. Bondo convinces his mom to buy an Overmaid, but the maid that arrives at his door is not what he expected!
