What is the plot of In/Spectre?

The story centers on Kuro Sakuragawa, who is actually a monster that has eaten two different yokai meats granting him the powers of immortality and near-absolute precognition. After Kuro ends up breaking up with his girlfriend he’s down in the dumps when he suddenly encounters a girl named Kotoko Iwanaga, who declares she’s been in love with Kuro for two years since she met him.

Kotoko then reveals that she is the Goddess of Wisdom, given that title by yokai, and serves as an intermediary between the real world and the supernatural world where the yokai live and thrive. At first, Kuro is skeptical that she is telling the truth but realizes she’s the real deal after fighting some yokai in the library. He then reveals his own hidden identity to Kotoko who surprisingly doesn’t bat an eye.

Kuro agrees to help Kotoko on her various missions as the peace-keeping Goddess of Wisdom, who usually serves as a mediator between humans and yokai. Kotoko wants Kuro to be her boyfriend, but unfortunately, she’s “not his type”. However, as these two get to know each other and a strong bond forms between them maybe Kotoko will be able to change his mind.
